Two-Day Wildlife Adventure in Khlong Saeng Wildlife Sanctuary

Discover one of Southern Thailand’s most remote and fascinating natural environments on an unforgettable two-day expedition into Khlong Saeng Wildlife Sanctuary. Deep within the spectacular landscape of Cheow Lan Lake, this protected wilderness offers a rare opportunity to explore pristine rainforest, navigate secluded waterways and search for some of Thailand’s most remarkable wildlife.

Day 1
Journey into the Wilderness, Jungle Trek and Wildlife Safari

Your adventure begins with a pick-up from Khao Sok Paradise Resort, followed by a private vehicle transfer to Cheow Lan Lake. From the pier, embark on a spectacular longtail boat journey of approximately two and a half hours across the emerald-green waters, passing towering limestone cliffs, lush rainforest and breathtaking scenery as you venture deep into the lake towards the remote Khlong Saeng Wildlife Sanctuary.

Upon arrival, enjoy lunch before setting off on a guided trek along the Lost River, exploring the fascinating forest environment and discovering the extraordinary biodiversity of this secluded region. Accompanied by an experienced local guide, learn about the rainforest ecosystem, its plants and the wildlife that inhabits this protected sanctuary.

After your trek along the Klong Saeng Lost river, climb aboard a traditional longtail boat for a wildlife safari through the sanctuary’s remote waterways. Keep your eyes open along the forested banks and among the treetops. If you’re lucky, you may spot wild elephants, gaurs (wild cattle), dusky langurs, eagles and other birds and mammals. This is a genuine wilderness experience, where wildlife encounters depend on patience, observation and a little luck.

As the afternoon draws to a close, enjoy the sunset from your boat, with the last rays of sunlight illuminating the limestone mountains and the tranquil waters of the lake.

Depending on the season and local conditions, the excursion may also include a visit to a fish farm, offering a glimpse into local life on the lake.

After this unforgettable day of exploration, return to your comfortable floating rafthouse, featuring air conditioning and a private bathroom. Enjoy dinner at the floating restaurant before relaxing for the evening, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature.

Meals included: Lunch and dinner.

Day 2
Early Morning Wildlife Safari and Return Journey

Rise early for a second wildlife safari by longtail boat, when the forest begins to awaken and the cooler morning hours offer another opportunity to observe animals in their natural habitat.

As the morning mist drifts across the lake, listen for the calls of gibbons and look for dusky langurs moving through the trees, eagles soaring above the forest and other wildlife along the shoreline. With a little luck, you may even encounter larger mammals coming to the water’s edge.

After your early morning excursion, return to your rafthouse for breakfast before beginning the scenic boat journey back across Cheow Lan Lake.

At the end of the excursion, enjoy lunch near the suspended bridge by the pier, a lovely spot to relax and take in the surrounding scenery. Depending on your interests and the time available, you can also visit Khlong Saeng Temple and explore nearby orchards, offering a glimpse into the local culture and agricultural life of the region. Your adventure concludes with the return transfer to Khao Sok Paradise Resort.
